| The hosts of Speaking of Golf, Tom and Sonja Horan, aka Mrs. Speaking of Golf, were invited to attend the 2009 Asian Pacific Golf Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia October 26-28, 2009. The golf summit was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center in Kuala Lumpur. Tom also sat on the panel that interviewed the “Golden Bear” himself, Jack Nicklaus. The other members of the panel were Spencer Robinson and Dave Seanor from Asian Golf Monthly Magazine. Other well known speakers from the golf world that spoke to the attendees were Gary Player, Peter Thompson and Robert Trent Jones Jr. The Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia hosted a welcome reception Monday evening, October 26 that Tom and Sonja attended and they spoke with the minister herself, Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen. On Wednesday after the fireside chat with Jack Nicklaus, Tom participated in Gary Player’s invitational golf tournament for the delegates in attendance and the King of Malaysia played as well. The summit culminated with a cocktail reception and gala dinner hosted by the Asia Pacific Golf Summit and in the Royal Ballroom at the Palace of the Golden Horses. Both Tom and Sonja were honored to be invited to such a great summit and have been asked to return next year to the summit which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. |
